During my internship year (school psychology), Franco (a history teacher) asked me if I would accompany him to the Junior Prom. I didn't know him & was only acquainted with a small handful of students that I worked with, so I declined. I noticed he wouldn’t look at me or speak to me after that day. We were at an end of year celebration & I was no longer an intern. I smiled at the thought of confronting Franco on this matter. I caught him by surprise & immediately commented about the declined invitation to the prom and what appeared to be planned ignoring. Franco sat there listening as he returned a generous smile. We managed to attend to only one another for the reminder of the night. This was the first of many fun filled evenings, and shortly thereafter, we were in love.
